Star Hill Ranch, Austin Area

Star Hill is a recreation of a Texas Hill Country community typical of the early 1900s. All of the buildings have been relocated from around the state and carefully restored for use as wedding, event, and film making facilities.

Star Hill began as a childhood dream of owner/creator Adam Woolley, who was inspired by visits to the early German immigrant settlement of Industry, Texas, located near Brenham.

Star Hill is the culmination of years of planning, renovating, and learning. It opened for events in 2004 and continues to be a repository for preservation of historic structures. In essence, it offers an opportunity to honor our heritage while creating a variety of wonderful new experiences and memories.

Corporate Events and Retreats

Star Hill hosts a variety of unique corporate and other special events. Guests experience a feel of anticipation as they stroll down the recreated main street and explore historic buildings that have been relocated from around central Texas and carefully restored.

Smaller spaces offer relaxed and practical settings for meetings and business conferences. Larger spaces offer elegant settings for parties, galas, and banquets. The collective building compound and surrounding landscaped areas can easily accommodate large festivals and corporate events.

Facilities

Star Hill is one of Austin’s most unique venues for special events. Centered along an historic main street and surrounded by panoramic Hill Country views, Star Hill is located just 25 minutes west of downtown Austin in the community of Bee Cave.

Our facilities have accommodated events ranging in size from 10 to 1800 guests. We offer an array of indoor and outdoor spaces to suit a variety of needs. Our largest individual space can seat 300+ indoors. All indoor spaces have ample air conditioning and adjustable lighting. All outdoor areas are beautifully landscaped with native plants and stonework.

Our event facilities include an historic chapel, reception hall, bride’s house, groom’s quarters, catering kitchen, and outdoor arbor. We also offer a larger chapel/reception hall as an option.

Our ultimate goal is to create a truly memorable experience. Since 2002, Star Hill has hosted over 500 weddings, numerous corporate events and business meetings, several festivals and charity events, holiday parties, retreats, school activities, musical concerts, photo shoots, film premiers, and a variety of motion picture and video productions.

A little more about Star Hill Ranch

Star Hill is currently home to 22 historic buildings as well as several other primitive structures that have been relocated from around central Texas. All were originally constructed between 1850 and 1935. The event spaces have been carefully restored to modern building codes.

In early 2008, owner Adam Woolley collaborated with legendary house mover H.D. Snow to relocate the historic Spillman-Guinn Homestead from its original site over to an area of Star Hill, for renovation as a family residence. National Geographic spent ten weeks documenting this project for their “Monster Moves” television program.
