The Ultimate Smoker and Grill was designed by Trace Arnold. Rolled from one single piece of steel, the original design consisted of ten stainless steel doors down each side of the Smoker. The smoker was divided into four separate sections but could be transformed into one solid smoking unit by the opening of the divider doors. The original design took only four months to complete and was immediately signed to touring contracts based solely on its unique ability to attract attention.

In 2001 the smoker was remodeled. This transformation took approximately six months to complete. The unit was renovated, updated and upgraded to make it a more versatile advertising and promotion tool. New sliding side rails were mounted to provide larger sponsorship opportunity areas. Larger flagpoles were added to double the space for top sponsorship levels and the back of the grill section was designed to carry company logo emblems if desired. Still capable of attracting curious passer-bys, the new model demands a longer second look and creates an even stronger interest with its extending cooking capabilities.

When the Smoker arrives to town, it becomes a news magnet. The World's Largest Smoker and Grill is a great story to top the evening news. Companies like Mrs. Bairds have quickly realized the exposure and increased sales that come from sponsoring the Smoker. Now, Mrs. Bairds is the official bread of the Ultimate Smoker and Grill.  Grady Spears is a legendary Cowboy chef who has appeared on all the leading talk shows and graced the covers of a bunch of magazines. Grady recognized the value of being associated with the Ultimate Smoker and Grill and has become the official Chef.

The Opportunities:

  • Signage on the Smoker
  • Flags and banners
  • Product Placement and sponsorship

Cingular Wireless needed a way to entertain customers at the Alamo Dome during the final four basketball finals. They ended up creating quite a stir and feeding 5,000 people each day. The media latched on and it only added to their brand presence. Product sales went up and brand awareness multiplied.

The NFL was looking for a memorable way to brand Tailgating for Super Bowl XXXVIII. They got together 10,000 players, sponsors and guests for the Worlds Largest tail gating party of all.

Mrs. Bairds made the news in every city they stopped in for a tour. They couldn't begin to place a dollar amount on the incredible exposure that Mrs. Bairds received. When they pulled into town, all the news people came out with their cameras. And the Mrs. Bairds logo made the 5:00 6:00 and 10:00 news. Over and over again.

Washington Mutual came to Chicago to break some records. They came just short of having the world's largest barbeque, but they nailed their expectations for exposure and brand awareness when they served over 35,000 teachers and entertained them with Country Music star Tim McGraw.

Pepcid launched its newest offering, Pepcid Complete at the New York Stock Exchange. In two hours, they served jalapeno cheese sausage to 13,000 followed up with samples of their new product. That was just the start of a one year Media Tour all along the Southeast and Northeast.
